Winter Lolita

The colored version of my original piece:



I couldn't resist trying to color it and seeing how it would turn out. The question: is this image better than the high contrast one?

About 16 hours for this one. I had to ink and color Kamiko and that took about 6.5 hours on its own. The background was another 7 hours as I tried to paint a wintry scene. I have to admit I'm not great shakes at painting nature, but it's one of those weaknesses I need to overcome, so I may be doing more of that in the future. I also monkeyed around with the colors for an hour or two to get the shade and shadows a bit bluer and darken the colors and whatnot. A lot of work.

There's actually two versions of the colored one. I only choose to upload the "blue" version. But there's also a "red" version which was more inline with my original thinking on how the dress should look. She would be wearing a "Santa" inspired dress. In the end though, she was all red! So I thought the blue might make it interesting. If you have any thoughts, I'd love to hear it.
